Flares are defined as episodes of widespread pus-filled blisters that can occur
without warning. Flares may start with fiery red, tender skin, followed by painful
blisters and dry scaling.
Pay attention to how your body feels. You may feel unwell and generally uneasy,
and may experience chills, decreased appetite, or nausea. You may also have general symptoms such as fever, joint pain, or feeling tired.

It may be a good idea to call your dermatologist when you see or feel the first signs of a flare.
ANY FLARE IS SERIOUS AND MAY REQUIRE MEDICAL CARE
In some cases, it may lead to hospitalization. Although rare, complications from a flare can be life threatening.
CARRY INFORMATION WITH YOU
A card or bracelet should explain what GPP is and have your dermatologist’s phone number. That way, any healthcare provider can communicate with your dermatologist.
